Sewing Cats by Soda Stitch

I wanted to stitch The sewing cats by Soda stitch after seeing the chart on Adel's Delcat cross stitching channel on YouTube. She decided to have a stitch along Facebook group . I fell in love with the cute little cats so I had to join in.

seeing the design stitched on grey fabric I thought this would be perfect for my craft room. There are so many lovely vibrant colours in the sewing cats design I wanted to keep the back ground subtle to keep the cats as the star of the piece. The fabric I chose was 28 count Trento in slate which I bought from Sew and so an online store in the UK. It is a plain mid grey Evenweave but it has a texture to it that I find attractive and adds interest.

So far I have stitched three kitties . I love stitching these little guys. Their little faces really come to life with the back stitching. I'm putting them away for a rest now but I'm sure I will be back to play with them soon.

Salal by Andi Satterlund

My first finished knitted garment of 2018 is the Salal by Andi Satterlund. A gorgeous vintage inspired cropped cardigan .

It knit up so quickly I was amazed. It is a Worsted/Aran weight sweater . Lovely and thick and cozy . I went for a tighter fit but next time I will try the next size up.

I chose some little silver buttons I had in stash as they looked really nice with the yarn. The yarn is Cascade 220 superwash in Pasific. A beautiful vibrant green.

The cardigan is knit top down with lovely clear instructions. The lace panels are very easy to follow and knit also. The main knitting is in knit and purl making this cardigan perfect TV knitting.
I'm looking forward to knitting more of these cardigans in an array of colours.

Knitting & Sewing Project 333 Winter Wardrobe 2018

This year I am very excited to be following the 333 Project. It is all about being more in control of your clothes and having a wardrobe that only has items you love and feel good in.

I have put a Me Made twist on mine as I want it to help me choose the right clothes to make. Preparing a capsule wardrobe collection ready for the next season. Project 333 simply means 33 items for 3 months.

Here is my Winter collection. I hope you enjoy the video x

New Year - New Cross stitch start

On the first of January I was very excited to start Celtic Spring by Lavender and lace.

I have been longing to stitch this series for years. This year I want to see how many I can stitch. I already have Summer waiting  as I luckily received it as a Christmas gift. I just need to collect Autumn,Winter and Noel to complete the collection.
I am stitching it on Evenweaver fabric that has been hand dyed by Crafty kitten. The colours are beautiful lilac, pink and blues. Very pretty and spring like called Easter eggs.

I am very pleased with my progress . I think she will be quite a quick stitch with some blocks of colour that always makes it faster to stitch. I had to give her some hair before putting her away for a while. She has a very pretty face and I'm sure she will be back in the q-snap very soon.

First cross stitch finish of the year !

Country cottage needleworks Gingerbread house 7 is my first finish of 2018.

It was a lovely little stitch to work on over Christmas. It is from the Gingerbread village series . It come with a really sweet little heart button but if you are missing the button it is charted to stitch in red.

I stitched this on a scrap of Evenweave and threads from stash.

Welcome to the new revamped blog for 2018

Hello and welcome to the first blog post of my revamped blog. I wanted to give my blog some love as I think it is the perfect place to keep all my project information. I am hoping that by tagging all my projects they will be easy to find. It will be lovely for myself to see at the end of the year everything I have made.

This blog will include my cross stitching projects, knitting, sewing and everything else that I find interesting and I hope you will too.

My sewing and knitting will also feature in my Project 333 Me made wardrobe section. I am hoping this will help in future seasons to help me choice which patterns to make again.

Thank you for joining me and please let me know in the comments if there is anything you would like included in the blog.

Love
